A Busy Downtown Winter Day

What else would I be doing on a frosty, cold and windy day here on the shore, but painting?  This image depicts a much milder winter day than what we are experiencing here in the Annapolis Royal area (-11).  Burr!!!  A Busy Downtown Winter Day is 6" x 24".

The Color of Spring

It is a warm (8 degrees), muggy day here in the valley, reminiscent of spring with all the mud and late day fog.  I decided not to focus on the mud, but to  focus on the positive characteristics of a spring day and here is the result.  The Color of Spring is 7" x 9".   Also, I have just updated my website with 22 paintings at www.mnewmanfolkart.com

Coming in on the Tide

It is time again to start preparing for galleries and markets for the 2013 season.  This painting is actually of Sandy Cove although I have changed the perspective on the houses in the background (creative licence:)  It is quiet on the bay this time of year, but soon it will be back to a steady stream of vessels coming in and out the wharf on the tide.  This painting entitled "Coming in on the Tide" is 8" x 24".

Blessings for 2013!

It is truly hard to believe that once again we are starting the year over - and we have snow!  A snowstorm on the 30th made it possible for me to make a snowman - one of my favorite things to do this time of year.  Thank you to everyone for your support in 2012 giving me a total of 101 original paintings sold, making this the fifth year of sales over 100.  I am busy now preparing for my show in Estepona, Spain in April/May but will be taking a break now and then to post a local scene.  This painting entitled "Winter Feeding" is 5" x 7" and is a common scene in the valley this time of year.  Happy New Year everyone!
